How to become a certified Agile Kata Pro trainer?
We take great pride in teaching and coaching the Agile Kata. To ensure, participants in our sessions receive a high-quality professional experience, we have a train-the-trainer (TTT) process in place which all candidates will need to follow. This site should give an overview on the process and make it transparent. From start to finish, we estimate it will take between 3 to 6 months depending on your involvement, background and participation. If you have any questions, not answered below, please reach out to support@agilekata.pro.
Participate in any Agile Kata Pro Level 1 course (public enrollment or private course) and pass the certification assessment with 90% or higher (80% is the pass rate, but future trainers require 90%)
Submit Your Application by email to support@agilekata.pro and include:
Your Background: Your Resume
Your Knowledge: Agile Kata Pro Level Certificate (PDF)
Your Experience: An experience report that demonstrates practical and hands-on experience using Agile Kata or Toyota Kata. Include visuals, experimentation records etc. if you can.
Tell us about yourself:
What makes you an outstanding trainer?
How can you make the Agile Kata community a better place?
What could you bring to this trainer community?
If your application passes the initial review, we will invite you to a 30 minute online meeting with 1 or 2 certified Agile Kata Pro trainers and yourself:
We will ask questions about your background and goals
We may ask you to demonstrate your teaching skills in a 5-minute teaching moment (which does not need to be about the Agile Kata itself).
We will both sign a license agreement which we will share with you once you submit your application. Expect the annual license fee to be between $750 and $1000, depending on what country you live in.
Participate in a 3h train-the-trainer session (online). This session is for you and we share some important information about the course (including instructor guide) to make you comfortable delivering the course.
Congratulations! You are a certified Agile Kata Pro trainer and can offer public or private courses.

There’s no script or predetermined set of questions. We won’t specifically test you on the Agile Kata. Instead, we want to learn about your background, your experiences, and how you can contribute to making the Agile Kata Pro community even better.
-
Please don’t call us, we will call you. Sometime we will need a few business weeks to review material.
-
There are no restrictions other than you being on camera. You can use any tool you like or no tool at all. Whatever works best for you, for your topic of choice and comfort level. We will be using zoom during the interview.
-
There’s no specific time or length of experience required. That said, we value candidates who can genuinely "walk the talk."

No problem! You’re welcome to either generalize or omit specifics. The goal isn’t to uncover your company’s secrets but to understand your experience with Agile Kata.
